The all new 2010 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid sedan is the first Malibu to use a two-mode hybrid powertrain. In the past, the Malibu has used a single-mode hybrid system that combined a 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor under the hood.

The dual-mode hybrid system is more efficient, allowing the driver to cruise on electric power. It also implements Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) – providing additional power and reducing fuel consumption. The result is a respectable 26mpg/city and 34mpg/highway.

Design wise, the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid is equally attractive as its non-hybrid counterparts. It offers a nicely designed roomy interior with comfortable seats, automatic climate control, satellite radio and a MP3/CD player

The 2010 Chevy Malibu Hybrid still has a long way to go to match the fuel efficiency of its competitors. That being said, the Malibu hybrid is an economical choice with a moderate price tag.
